When I started this Hotel Blog I didn’t think I’d be writing about the effect of President Elect Mr. Obama would have on our hotel! Since the election our phone volume has increased dramatically. Hyde Park Chicago is getting a lot of attention. We even had a number of developers call today intrested in buying us. Though that does happen fairly frequently. More importantly Tour Operators are calling from other countries and the U.S. wanting to stay with us.
We’ve been a great affordable Chicago hotel to stay at over the years. Were talking about spending some money on some improvements on the property and I’m glad to hear that we still want to stay being an affordable hotel. We don’t believe in gouging our guests! The fact that the Dollar value is such a value now to other countries makes us even a better deal for a Chicago Hotel.
Theirs a great convention in town, the Packaging Expo and many of our guests are from different countries including, Germany, The Netherlands, Brazil, England and Asia. Its fun working at a hotel that caters to the world. As a hotel blog goes I may go on and on about our hotel but, our people is what makes our hotel. Were not a first class four star hotel but were a hotel that cares and I think thats more important than anything else.
