Aladdin the Musical

Bring the family to see Disney’s “Aladdin” at the Cadillac Palace Theatre in Chicago opening April 15, and stay at the nearby and affordable Chicago Lake Shore Hotel.

Not every Disney movie translates well to the stage (the animated “Aladdin” won an Academy Award and starred the insane Robin Williams), but “Aladdin” the musical is one of the exceptions. The title role is played by Adam Jacobs, fresh from the Broadway show!

Plot in a nutshell: “Aladdin” is about the runaway Princess Jasmine who meets up with street urchin Aladdin. Our hero discovers a magic lamp, meets a genie, and wins the girl! Just like real life!

“Aladdin” the musical is directed by the Tony Award winning Casey Nicholaw, he of “The Book of Mormon” and “Something’s Rotten.” There are all the film songs plus additional songs written by Tim Rice. The show opened in 2014 and received five Tony Award nominations, winning for Best Performance by an Actor in a Musical.
