Cedric the Entertainer

Come to the Chicago Theatre to see the hilarious Cedric the Entertainer in concert March 24, and stay at the nearby and affordable Chicago Lake Shore Hotel in historic Hyde Park!

Cedric the Entertainer is a comedy junkie. He effortlessly goes from movies to TV to stage, and he is one of the funniest men on the planet. Just go online to YouTube and watch his bit on his daughter asking if animals commit suicide. It has to do with possums running into traffic because they’re depressed.

Cedric the Entertainer started his show business life as host of the legendary “It’s Showtime at the Apollo,” a showcase where stars are born or killed by boos. In the 90s, he hosted BET’s “The Comic View.” He joined the iconic Steve Harvey on “The Steve Harvey Show,” which led to the First Kings of Comedy Tour, with Harvey, D.L. Hughley, and Bernie Mac. Spike Lee then directed a film version of the tour. Then came his character, The Barber, who spoke his mind and riled some fans. The end result was the classic “Barbershop” film.

The Entertainer really showed off his acting chops in the Broadway revival of David Mamet’s “American Buffalo.” Game show fans will recognize his many hosting duties.
