August 1 – 26: Disney’s Beauty and The Beast
This musical based on Disney’s classic film is playing at the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre on Navy Pier. The 70-minute stage production tells the tale of a prince who must earn a beautiful woman’s love in order to break the spell that transformed him into a beast. Entertainment for the whole family.
August 14 – 19: US Navy War of 1812 Bicentennial
In remembrance of the Bicentennial of the War of 1812, Navy Pier will be welcoming various ships from the Navy and Cost Guard. They will be open for public visitation and there will also be special entertainment including performances by U.S. Navy bands Liberty Call and Horizon in the Landshark Beer Garden on Saturday and Sunday. Now until September 1: Navy Pier Summer Fireworks
Witness Chicago’s dazzling fireworks display on the water as music plays in perfect synchronization. The show is scheduled every Wednesday at 9.30 and Saturday at 10.15pm until Labor Day weekend. This is the perfect way to end a busy day exploring Chicago’s attractions.
Now until September 3: Cirque Shanghai -Year Of The Dragon
This magnificent show features entertainment for all ages and has just finished a successful run on Broadway. China’s best daredevil motorcycle troupe “Imperial Thunder” return with five motorcyclists riding at break-neck speed. If you like stunts, action and aerial acrobatics, this is the show for you.
September 16-18: World Music Festival Chicago
Talented acts from all over the world visit Navy Pier’s Landshark Beer Garden to perform during three days of diverse and amazing music. Don’t miss this festival for a chance to see world music ranging from places including Egypt, Greece, Ireland, Senegal, India, Nepal, Taiwan, Ghana and Bulgaria.
