Four Star Bike and Chow Chicago Event

Ride on and eat hardy at the Four Star Bike & Chow charitable event on September 7, sponsored by the Active Transportation Alliance of Chicago, and stay at the nearby and affordable Chicago Lake Shore Hotel!

The Four Star Bike & Chow event starts and finishes at the corner of Morgan and Taylor Streets on the University of Illinois at Chicago campus.

Choose from four routes, 12-, 22-, 40- or 62 miles long. Each bike rider receives a detailed trail guide including locations of historic, architectural and scenic interest. Route marker stencils will be painted on the streets to guide you.

12 Mile. Visit Bridgeport, Chinatown, Pilson and much more. Cross the Chicago River twice and stop at local parks. This route is ideal for novice riders.

22 Mile. Share the first eight miles of the 12 mile route. Ride on through Hyde Park, and Bronzeville, with much of the ride stretching along Lake Michigan.

40 Mile. Ride to Chicago’s far south side, to the historic Pullman District, then on to Lake Calumet and back to the finish.

62 Mile. The first forty miles are the same as above. Continue on to WolfLakeState Park, home of a beautiful restored prairie. Travel the Burnham Greenway Bike Path then back to UIC.

Each participant will receive a punch card good for three sample meals, including Chicago-style hot dogs, Chinese food and so much more. Register online at www.fourstarbiketour.org/signup.

Rest your weary bones at the Chicago Lake Shore Hotel, on the routes of the Four Star Bike & Chow event. The hotel offers free shuttle bus service to and from the Loop area and is close to bus and train services. The Lake Shore Café offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. AND Jazz, Friday nights.
