They come from all over the world. In fact on a daily basis I am emailing to China, England, South America or even South Korea. Of course many people come for a convention but quite a few are just families staying with us for their vacation.
We recently had a group from Russia and were lucky that our restaurant manager speaks fluent Russian. The interaction between them was fun to watch as she talked to them about things to do and see in Chicago. To think they came all this way and they wanted to visit local Russian neighborhoods and restaurants.
What I love the most is when the families come in with the kids. There so much fun to tease and make them laugh. We get a lot of families here. I get tired watching them do all that their trying to fit into their vacation. In one day to visit the Shedd Aquarium, The Museum of Science and Industry and Navy Pier would actually kill the average family. These folks have to be “Super Families.” Or how about the young brother that has to dragged into half a day at the American Girl Store!

Were lucky here at the Chicago Lake Shore Hotel we get to meet a lot of interesting people from all over the world and we get to show them a good time! Over the last 10-15 years with the internet the world has gotten a lot smaller and were more of a world community now. Its open my eyes up to how the United States is viewed from other countries and how other countries are different yet the same as us.
Either way the Chicago Lake Shore Hotel has become a temporary home to a lot of people and I think they think of it that way also. At least we try hard at it every day.
