Margaret Cho in Concert

Come to Chicago to see standup comedian Margaret Cho at the Chicago Theatre September 23, and stay at the nearby and affordable Chicago Lake Shore Hotel in historic Hyde Park!

Margaret Cho calls her latest show, “Fresh off the Bloat, “my sickest show to date. My grandmother said ‘You look as bloated as if you’ve been found dead in a lake after several days of searching.’” Cho is noted for frank bits about her Korean family.

In 1994, after being the opening act of Jerry Seinfeld’s standup tour, Margaret Cho won the American Comedy Award for Best Female Comedian. She became a favorite guest of Bob Hope and Arsenio Hall. In that same year, Cho had her own ABC sitcom, “All-American Girl.” Her producers said she was not Asian enough, then too Asian.

Margaret Cho has appeared on “30 Rock,” earning an Emmy nomination, and “Sex in the City.” Her one-woman show “I’m the One that I Want,” was based on her memoir of the same name. New York Magazine proclaimed the show “Best Performance of the Year.”
