Turkey Day Run

Bring your runner friends, office mates and family to the 39th annual Turkey Day Run in Chicago’s Lincoln Park November 24, and stay at the nearby and affordable Chicago Lake Shore Hotel!

The Turkey Day Run has been a cherished family holiday event for over three decades, with something for everyone! There will be an Adult 5K and 8K races, Youth 5K (age 17 and under), and you can run, walk or crawl to get to the finish line! Run your giblets off and burn those calories before your Thanksgiving Dinner!

There is a special race course for younger kids, the Plymouth Rock Ramble, along the Lincoln Park Driving Range. The kids will be supervised and reunited with families. There will be turkey-themed awards and snacks! Ages 2-4 years will walk fifty yards, 6-year-old kids a quarter mile, and 7-12 years a half mile.

The start of the adult races, the finish and the Turkey Tailgate will take place on Cannon Drive, just north of the Lincoln Park Conservatory and Zoo. The course is wheelchair friendly, and para-athletes are encouraged to join in! Turkey Day Tailgate includes activities like Turkey Bowling, Football Throwing, Cornhole Toss, a costume contest, and much more.

Make your Turkey Day Run experience more enjoyable by staying at the Chicago Lake Shore Hotel, in historic Hyde Park. Chicago Lake Shore offers free shuttle bus service to and from the Loop area and is close to bus and train services. The Lake Shore Café offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. AND Jazz and seafood buffet (non-seafood items available) Friday nights.
