Bring the movie lovers in your family to the 51st annual Chicago International Film Festival October 15-29, and stay at the nearby and affordable Chicago Lake Shore Hotel!

The Chicago International Film Festival is the largest competitive film festival in the United States. It began as a venue to show non-commercial films and quickly developed a reputation for discovering emerging directors such as Martin Scorsese, Wim Wenders, Taylor Hackford, John Carpenter, Mike Leigh, Ranier Werner Fassbinder and many, many more.

A sample of this year’s films includes “45 Years,” a British film starring the great Charlotte Rampling, about a couple whose marriage is on the decline; “Brooklyn,” an Irish film about 1950’s New York; director Todd Haynes’ “Carol,” starring Cate Blanchette, about two women having an affair in the 1950s; “Cemetery of Splendor,” about a group of soldiers who fall into a coma after disturbing some remains; “I Smile Back,” the first dramatic role for comic Sara Silverman, about a suburban woman drug addict; and there are many more!

The majority of screenings will be held at AMC River East 21, 322 East Illinois Street in Chicago. For tickets and more information, call (312) 332-3456 or go online to www.chicagofilmfestival.com.
