Cycling in Hyde Park
Very often we see people coming to our hotel with their bicycles attached to their vehicles. They have come to the right place! Were bicycle central sometimes. One of the many reasons people stay with us is that we are right on Lake Shore Drive and we overlook Lake Michigan! On top of that were across the street from a 23 mile bicycle/jogging path that follows the Chicago Lake Front! Were at the southern end of the Chicago Bike path so people like to start here and go north.
They really get to see the sights. Bicycling Chicago’s lakefront alone is worth the ride. Seeing all the boats in Monroe Harbor, the City Skyline, Navy Pier, the Chicago Beaches, Lincoln Park and Lincoln Park Zoo is amazing. The sights are endless… you could ride for three days and still not see everything!
Even if you don’t bring your own bike you can rent them at Navy Pier! They even have guided city tours on bikes. A lot of family’s stay with us just for this reason… Its hard to get your bikes on the escalators at some of those bigger hotels or try walking through the lobby carrying your bike while all those people are in their suits or tuxes.
