Drive to Chicago to the MB Financial Bank Bike the Drive event May 24, and stay at the nearby and affordable Chicago Lake Shore Hotel!
Bike the Drive is a 30 mile bicycle tour of Lake Shore Drive on the one day of the year when there are no cars. You can bike the whole thing, or just do a segment. People of all ages and abilities will love this biking tour of Chicago’s lake front. Enjoy the architecture, the parks, the Lincoln Park Zoo, the early morning views of Lake Michigan, and much more!
Bike the Drive 2015 kicks off at 5:30 am. Event organizers encourage you to start your ride before 7 am. There will be three rest stops, a post-ride festival and the Ultimate Skyline Selfie Station, to prove you made the journey! Participants will be given stickers for helmets, bikers and bikes.
You can start your ride from five stations: Columbus Drive and Jackson Drive, Bryn Mawr rest stop, Museum of Science and Industry rest stop (just down the street from the Chicago Lake Shore Hotel!), Fullerton checkpoint and Oakwood checkpoint. Light snacks and water are provided at the checkpoints.
The Bike the Drive Festival at Butler Field in Grant Park will offer an all you can eat pancake breakfast for eight dollars. There will be other food booths and displays of bicycle equipment and related items for sale. Enjoy music from R-Gang, a funk and soul band. Free valet parking for bikes so you know yours won’t get lost!

Make your MB Financial Bank Bike the Drive experience more enjoyable by staying at the Chicago Lake Shore Hotel, in historic Hyde Park. Chicago Lake Shore offers free shuttle bus service to and from the Loop area and is close to bus and train services. The Lake Shore Café offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. AND Jazz and seafood buffet, Friday nights.
