Chicago Book Expo

If you’re feeling bookish, come to the Chicago Book Expo at Columbia College November 21, and stay at the nearby and affordable Chicago Lake Shore Hotel!

The Chicago Book Expo is a celebration of Chicago independent presses and authors. Just about every genre of literature you can name will be represented! You can buy books and participate in fifteen programs, readings and workshops.

Guest authors include writer and performer Ian Belknap, founder of Write Club; journalist Elaine Hegwood Bowen; mystery/thriller author Raymond Benson; writer and performance poet Nicole Bond; professor and historian Gerald L. Butters, Jr.; independent filmmaker Michael Caplan; celebrated poet and short story writer Ana Castillo; and many more.

Guest speaker topics include Chicago and the Novel, a panel on writing about the Windy City; Algren, a tribute to celebrated Chicago writer Nelson Algren; The Art of the Short Story; 1,000 Chicago Afternoons, about stories set in Chicago neighborhoods; and many more offerings.

Press presenters include After Hours Press, Allium Press of Chicago, Avendia Publishing, Belt Magazine, Chicago Review, Burial Day Books, Columbia Poetry Review, food and literary journal Glaze Press, and a host of others.
