The Bank of America Chicago Marathon 2014 is always one of the most popular races in the country, for professional runners and everyday runners alike. One of the Big Five of the country, and the third largest race in the world, the Bank of America Chicago Marathon 2014, known as “the flat marathon” (there are no hills), starts in Grant Park and winds its way through the iconic neighborhoods of Greektown, Chinatown, the Loop, Lincoln Park, Wrigleyville, Old Town, Little Italy, Pilson and Bridgeport.
The 27th Mile Post Race Party will be in Grant Park’s Butler Field. The general public is welcome. The party ends at 3 pm.
Make your Bank of America Chicago Marathon 2014 experience more enjoyable by staying at the Chicago Lake Shore Hotel, in Hyde Park. ChicagoLakeShore offers free shuttle bus service to and from the Loop area* and is close to bus and train services. The Lake Shore Café offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. AND Jazz, Friday nights. AND runners can carbo-load on pasta and vegetables in preparation for the marathon at our Friday night seafood buffet!
*Special for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon 2014: The Chicago Lake Shore Hotel will operate three shuttle runs on the day of the marathon, Sunday, October 12. Times: 5 am, 5:30 am, and 6 am. The shuttle holds 13 people and is first come first served. In addition, taxis will be lined up at our curb and the Chicago Transit Authority will be operating trains and buses within a short walk from the hotel. As always, the hotel offers free parking in our covered parking facility.
