Christkindlmarket is as iconic a holiday event as Chicago has to offer. It is by far the largest city festival. Loosely structured after Germany’s Christkindlesmarkt (starting in 1545), the event brings European and German culture to the fore. There will be food, music, dance, and much more. Whole days are devoted to theatrical performances, concerts, and special family events.
