Ben Roy is a comedy star, with his blend of rant (think Lewis Black and the vitriolic Bill Hicks), sarcasm, observation and high octane humor. He is featured in the book, “Mock Stars: Indie Comedy and the Dangerously Funny,” along with Fred Armison (“Portlandia”) and Patton Oswalt.
Ben Roy is a member of The Grawlix, a sort of underground comedy club and web series in Denver, Colorado. He was invited to perform at the Boston Comedy Club, the Laughing Skull Comedy Festival, the Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival, the MTV Comedy Showcase and the Just For Laughs Montreal Comedy Festival.
In 2011, the Denver Post picked Ben Roy as one of eleven “pathfinders” in the Denver area. The Onion A.V. club said of Ben Roy, “he’s like a skinny, punk rock Sam Kinison.”
