If comedy was politics, Jake Johannsen would be president. He is the master of the inane, finding humor in common household items, domestic life and yes, extraterrestrials. Go on YouTube and watch him do six minutes on toasters. David Letterman was so taken by Jake Johannsen’s comedy he booked the comic forty-six times!

Jake Johannsen got his start in West Coast comedy clubs alongside Bobcat Goldthwait and Dana Carvey. In 1986, he won the 11th Annual San Francisco Stand-up Comedian Competition. Critics have compared him to “The Far Side” cartoonist Gary Larson.

Jake Johannsen was named Best Male Stand-up Comedian at the 1994 American Comedy Awards. He has appeared at or hosted “HBO’s Young Comedian’s Special,” “Comedy Tonight,” and “Two Drink Minimum.” He starred with Mathew Broderick and Jennifer Jason Leigh in the film “Mrs. Parker and the Vicious Circle.”
