John Fogarty Concert

Bring the family to see the legendary John Fogarty in concert at the First Merit Bank Pavilion on Northerly Island, and stay at the nearby and affordable Chicago Lake Shore Hotel!

John Fogarty first appeared on the rock music scene with The Golliwogs in the mid-fifties. Like polliwogs to frogs, The Golliwogs transformed the band into Creedence Clearwater Revival, and the rest is history. John Fogarty is best known as the lead singer and guitarist for the illustrious band with such hits as “Susie Q,” and “Proud Mary.”

The band broke up well before they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Fogarty went on to enjoy a long solo career, including many appearances with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. He is listed in the Top 100 guitarists and singers by “Rolling Stone Magazine.”

Come early to the concert and enjoy the delights of Northerly Island, a manmade island in Lake Michigan, formerly a small airport. The First Merit Bank is a wonderful 30,000 seat concert venue. Also on the island is a restored prairie with walking paths. And of course, the view of Chicago city is stunning.

First Merit Bank Pavilion is located at 1300 South Lyn White Drive just east of Chicago’s Loop. For tickets and more information go to www.firstmerit.boxofficesales.com.
