Bring your guy or your dame to the Music Box Theatre’s Noir City Chicago 2015, August 28-September 3, and stay at the nearby and affordable Chicago Lake Shore Hotel!
Bogart and Bacall weren’t the only 30s-40s film actors thrilling us with cynical detectives and femme fatales. The family friendly Music Box Theatre, one of Chicago’s grand old historical movie houses (they even have a pipe organ!) presents Noir City Chicago 2015, a lineup of restored and largely forgotten film gems of the golden days of Film Noir. Enjoy broads, gats, gents, lots of cigarette smoking, Fedoras, and weird pointy bras! Come in costume of you dare!
Headlining Noir City Chicago 2015 are “Woman on the Run,” starring the great Ann Sheridan, and the 1947 thriller, “The Guilty.” There will also be two Argentine classics: “Don’t Open That Door” (oh, go ahead, open that door!), and “If I Die Before I Wake.” And how about handsome tough guy, Dan Duryea in “The Underworld Story!”
The Music Box Theatre is located at 3733 North Southport in Chicago. The theatre is accessible by el trains and buses. For tickets and the full Noir City Chicago 2015 schedule, go online to www.musicboxtheatre.com and follow the prompts.
